AIGA Philadelphia will host its first fundraising event, entitled “Speakeasy Soirée and Silent Auction” on December 7th, 2012 at the Christ Church Neighborhood House, 20 N. American Street, Philadelphia, PA. Proceeds will support AIGA Philadelphia’s programming, including lectures, exhibitions, workshops, scholarships and civic outreach initiatives.

The "Roaring 20s" themed event begins at 7:00pm, and costs $20 for members, $30 for non-members. The price will increase after November 23rd. Admission includes Prohibition Era cocktails, light bites, music and prizes. Come dressed in your 20s best and score holiday gifts at the silent auction! Auction participants include Adobe, The Barnes Foundation, The Clay Studio, Le Meridien Philadelphia, Pomegranate LLC, among many others.

Founded in 1914, AIGA remains the oldest and largest professional membership organization for design, with 66 chapters and more than 22,000 members nationwide. AIGA Philadelphia, the first local chapter, was established in 1981, and represents a variety of professions under the umbrella of communication design, ranging from book and type design to interactive design and experience design. AIGA Philadelphia's programs enrich the community (through their new headquarters in Old City, aptly called SPACE) as well as benefit their local membership of over 600 design professionals, educators and students.
